South Dakota’s slowing Covid-19 vaccination rate has caught the attention of some legislators.
Representative Linda Duba of Sioux Falls talked about that rate at a meeting of the Joint Committee on Appropriations Wednesday.
Duba says she will contact Health Department Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon to talk about vaccination incentives.
Legislative Research Council fiscal analyst Joey Knofczynski (nof-chin-ski) says states can do vaccine lotteries under federal spending rules.
The committee took no action on Duba’s proposal. Just under 52% of the state’s eligible population for fully vaccinated.
