ABERDEEN, SD(Press Release) -Stencil Group, a vertically-integrated housing development company with projects across the Upper Midwest, is proud to announce two new projects in Aberdeen, SD: a72-unit addition to Dakota Estates, plus a new 100-unit community tailored to active individuals 55 years and better called Forté Living.
While programming inside Forte will be tailored to retirement-age individuals, this is not an assisted living community. Residents will have a host of on-site leisure options to choose from, including pickleball, bocce courts and shuffleboard, a community gardening space, and a trail that covers the perimeter of the property. With the 72-unit addition to Dakota Estates and eventual opening of Forté, the Stencil property will become the largest apartment complex in the city of Aberdeen.
All residents of Stencil-owned property – whether they live in the existing Dakota Estates buildings, the planned Dakota States expansion, Forté, or otherwise – will have access to Forté’s amenities.
“We already have a large presence, but we still believe there’s more to do in Aberdeen,” says Nathan Stencil, CEO of Stencil Group. “This is a pretty aggressive expansion project, but we have enjoyed our experiences in this community and look forward to becoming an even larger part of the Aberdeen experience in the coming years.”
The Forte model is currently unmatched in Aberdeen and many other mid-sized communities in the Midwest. Aberdeen will become the home of Forté’s second location, the first located in Rochester, Minnesota – and Shane Weber, Chief Business Officer at Stencil Group, said it will likely be followed with similar projects in cities across the Dakotas and Minnesota.
“We will be expanding into markets we’re familiar with, and maybe even some new markets as we move forward,” said Weber. “The Forté name will be known across the Midwest.”
Initial plans in Aberdeen call for a groundbreaking in fall 2021, with the two buildings opening for tenants in the latter half of 2022. Once completed, the entire Stencil-owned property – just north of NE 24th Avenue – will boast roughly 300 housing units for people of all ages and incomes.
