ABERDEEN, S.D.(Aberdeen American News)- After a year hiatus, National Night Out returns to Melgaard Park on Tuesday.
National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, is from 6 to 9 p.m. and features booths from a host of public safety-related organizations and agencies.
Aberdeen Police Department Capt. Tanner Jondahl said special recognition will be given to members of the police department who have done some amazing and heroic things. A movie, “The Secret Life of Pets” will be shown, and hot dogs and beverages will be served. There is no charge.
National Night Out was not held in 2020 due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.
