TYNDALL, S.D.(WNAX)- Replacing a rail line with a tourist attraction is the goal of a southeast South Dakota group.
Ron Wagner of Tyndall is Co-Chair of the “Tabor to Platte Rails to Trail Association.”
He says they are eyeing transforming seventy five miles of the idle rail line and have approached the legislature.
Wagner says they would like to see it used like an existing Black Hills trail.
Wagner says they are working on funding and design.
The line is still owned by the state and has rail and ties that would have to be removed.
