ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Prior to the City Council meeting Monday night, the council did a work session dealing with zoning issues regarding medical marijuana or cannabis.

City Attorney Ron Wager talks about how local governments can get involve in the cannabis industry.

City Manager Joseph Gaa discuss how the city should handle the industry.

Wager talks about the number of dispensaries that the city could potentially see.

Council member Clint Rux feels 5 dispensaries is too many and feel the number needed should depend on the population.

Wager reminds the council who is authorized to prescribe cannabis.

The Aberdeen City Council will schedule another work session next Monday at 5:30pm to continue discussions on cannabis.
