FORT PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Thursday South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg officially entered his plea for the death of Joseph Boever.

Ravnsborg’s attorney Tim Rensch entered no contest pleas to count 1 & 2.

Count 3 which was the careless driving charge was dropped.

Ravnsborg will not be serving any jail time.  Emily Sovell, the Hyde County District Attorney offered her condolences to the Boever family.

Joseph Boever’s wife Jennifer disagrees with the court ruling that there will be no jail time for Ravnsborg.

Rensch reminds the Boever family that the case dealt with an accident and not homicide charges.

Judge John Brown found the defendant Jason Ravnsborg guilty of Count 1(Operating a Vehicle with a Mobile Device & Count 2(Lane Changing Violation).

Brown fines Ravnsborg $500 for each count and ordered to pay court costs & restitution of over $3,700.  Here’s his full statement.
