PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)-  The joint committee on redistricting meant Monday in Pierre.

Representative Drew Dennert was chair of the Technology Subcommittee and talked about the technology & software to be used by the redistricting committee.

Dennert talks about how the public can create maps but due to time constraints motioned that the software being used are done by the redistricting committee only.

Sioux Falls citizen John Claussen express concerns about gerrymandering issues involving one of the districts in our listening area.

No districts was created today.  The committee formed subcommittees to create districts for Sioux Falls, Rapid City, & the tribal lands.

Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9th.
