PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Finding and paying teachers will continue to be a problem for South Dakota school districts.
The Teacher Compensation Review Board met Tuesday as part of their process for formalizing their report to the legislature on teacher pay.
Wade Pogany, Executive Director of the Association School Boards, told the group there still a lot of open teaching positions.
Pogany says they also did a study of teacher pay compared to other states in the region.
Pogany says it will take a major investment by the state to get teacher salaries where they need to be.
Schools got a two-point six percent increase in state aid for the current fiscal year.
