Marshall County man gets 78 months in federal prison for abusive sexual contact with child

ABERDEEN, S.D.(Aberdeen American News)- A Veblen area man convicted of abusive sexual contact with a child was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison.

43-year-old Dominic S. Redday was sentenced at the federal courthouse in Aberdeen by U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann. Following his prison sentence, he will be on supervised release for five years and must pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Redday was indicted in August 2020 and pleaded guilty in June.

He was initially charged with abusive sexual contact of a child and sexual abuse of a minor in connection to incidents in 2011 and 2012 when Redday knowingly engaged in and attempted to engage in sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl using force, threats, and fear, according to court paperwork.

Redday was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
