SD Dept of Health reports 4 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,100. The state had 544 new cases and 272 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,794. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 214.

So far, South Dakota has had 139,956 cases and 130,062 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 28 new cases and 16 recoveries. The county currently has 280 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,095 cases and 5,720 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 34,592 cases, followed by Pennington County with 17,964 and Lincoln County with 9,474, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,008, Brookings with 4,759, Meade with 3,920, Lawrence with 3,869, and Davison with 3,520.

Statewide 415,370 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 63% of the state) with 383,107 completing vaccination(over 57% of the state). Brown County has 19,647 receiving at least one shot & 18,480 completing vaccination.
