PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The House and Senate Redistricting Committees of the South Dakota legislature will meet again Wednesday to continue the process of drawing new legislative district maps.
Senator Jim Bolin of Canton says a major question facing lawmakers is what to do with the small towns around Sioux Falls.
Bolin, a veteran of the 2011 redistricting, says they had a good solution then.
A special session is scheduled for November 8th to approve the new map. Bolin says they will have one ready by then.
Public hearings will be held around the state early next month before the final maps are produced. Aberdeen’s public hearing will be Tuesday October 12, 1PM at the ARCC.
