PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 5 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,105. The state had 446 new cases and 308 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,927. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 202.
So far, South Dakota has had 140,402 cases and 130,370 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 17 new cases and 16 recoveries. The county currently has 281 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,112 cases and 5,736 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 34,692 cases, followed by Pennington County with 18,050 and Lincoln County with 9,503, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,024, Brookings with 4,783, Meade with 3,937, Lawrence with 3,888, and Davison with 3,525.
Statewide 416,115 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 63% of the state) with 383,901 completing vaccination(under 58% of the state). Brown County has 19,687 receiving at least one shot & 18,534 completing vaccination.
