FREEMAN, S.D.(WNAX)- The Freeman public school district got some good news when they counted heads this fall.
Their enrollment is now at three hundred seventy four, up from three hundred fifty three at the start of last year.
Superintendent Jake Tietje says it was a nice surprise.
Tietje says the increase is mostly in the early grades.
Tietje says they had to move some staff around to handle the extra students.
The increase in student numbers should also translate to a bump in state aid for the district.
