SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,133. The state had 551 new cases and 690 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,461. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 205.

So far, South Dakota has had 144,546 cases and 134,952 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 21 new cases and 25 recoveries. The county currently has 298 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,266 cases and 5,873 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 35,584 cases, followed by Pennington County with 18,933 and Lincoln County with 9,768, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,192, Brookings with 4,919, Meade with 4,115, Lawrence with 4,049, and Davison with 3,592.

Statewide 421,121 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 64% of the state) with 389,541 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Brown County has 19,867 receiving at least one shot & 18,776 completing vaccination.
