SPEARFISH, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Board of Regents meets this week at the School of Mines in Rapid City.
The Board will hear the final report from the SB55 Task Force. That group has been meeting for about a year and was supposed to come up with budget cutting and efficiency recommendations.
Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Appropriations, says the Regents should be ready to act on those recommendations.
Hunhoff says the six state universities are not seeing the enrollment growth they had anticipated.
Hunhoff says the tech colleges and the Regents system are not cooperating like they should.
Enrollment at the six state universities was flat again this year and has not shown much growth in the past four years.
