PLATTE, S.D.(WNAX)- Platte-Geddes Elementary School has been named a distinguished school by the US Department of Education. It’s a program of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
Platte-Geddes Elementary Principal Jennifer Knecht says they have high expectations of their students in and out of the classroom.
Knecht says following the abrupt end of the 2020 school year due to Covid-19, they decided to offer summer school classes.
Knecht says they hope to continue pass down the incentives for good academic results.
Explorer Elementary in Harrisburg was the other winner in the state. All the state winners will be honored at the Nation ESEA Conference in February.
