PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,177. The state had 429 new cases and 473 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 6,539. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 202.
So far, South Dakota has had 148,249 cases and 139,533 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 12 new cases and 21 recoveries. The county currently has 220 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,380 cases and 6,063 recoveries. There’s currently 97 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 36,393 cases, followed by Pennington County with 19,636 and Lincoln County with 9,988, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,300, Brookings with 5,011, Meade with 4,316, Lawrence with 4,175, and Davison with 3,649.
Statewide 426,001 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 65% of the state) with 394,234 completing vaccination(over 59% of the state). Brown County has 20,052 receiving at least one shot & 19,037 completing vaccination
