PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The impacts of widespread drought and low livestock prices could show up by the time the 2022 South Dakota legislative session wraps up.
Representative Marty Overweg is Chairman of the House Ag Committee. He says all the major ag groups have been talking about it.
Overweg says there aren’t many state programs to help ag producers.
Oveweg says there appears to be some good crop harvest numbers coming in.
Through the first three months of the fiscal year, the state has collected about sixty-one million dollars more in tax revenue than the legislature estimated.
