PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The House and Senate Legislative Redistricting Committees met again in Pierre Monday, working toward agreement on a new legislative map.
Matt Frame, a lawyer with the Legislative Research Council, told the group they will soon have the proposed map revisions available on a public website.
The committees held several days of public hearings last week. Senator Helene Duhamel of Rapid City said she heard a consistent message.
Representative Bethany Soye of Sioux Falls says separating rural and urban areas is important.
Representative Drew Dennert put in the resolution approved by the Aberdeen City Council to make Brown County two districts.
Committee Chair, Senator Mary Duvall of Pierre says they are facing some deadlines.
The committees have one more meeting scheduled for Monday before the special session on November 8th.
