PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- There have been some disrupted school board meetings in the state and across the country as parents and administrators clash over face mask mandates and other related issues.
Wade Pogany, Executive Director of the Associated School Boards of South Dakota, says public input is part of the processs.
Pogany says school boards always put the safety of students first.
Pogany says school board members are community members too.
Pogany says school boards have procedures to allow public comments during open meetings.
