PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota State Railroad Board put off a decision on a citizens group request to convert an unused rail bed from Tabor to Platte to a walking – biking trail.
Bob Foley of Tyndall, with the group: “Friends of the Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail” told the board they want to do a study of the conversion.
State Department of Transportation Secretary Joel Jundt recommended the board wait on the proposal.
Board member Jon Kirby of Sioux Falls says it’s a good idea to wait.
The board asked the group to come back with more information at their December meeting.
