RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- Following two weeks of sometimes contentious discussions at the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference, or COP26, the path away from fossil fuel usage remains unclear.
Eight of the events attendees, representatives from the Rapid City-based NDN Collective Climate Justice team, have returned home and are now assessing the path forward.
One team member was Jade Begay, NDN Collective Climate Justice Director, who said there was a measured plan in place for the group.
One who heard the NDN Collective message was White House National Climate advisor Gina McCarthy, who plugged the group at the White House Tribal Nations Summit this week.
McCarthy described her time with NDN Collective as her “favorite” meeting of the COP Summit.
Begay said she personally views the trip to Scotland as a success.
The COP26 summit was held in Glasgow, Scotland between October 31 and November 12.
