ABERDEEN, S.D. (Brown County Sheriff’s Office Press Release) – On Thursday, May 2, after 10 p.m., Mitchell Morrison, 28, was found with a noose around his neck in his jail cell. CPR was initiated by jail personnel until paramedics arrived. Morrison was transported to Avera St. Luke’s Hospital. He was eventually transferred to Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls where he passed away on Sunday, May 5.

An autopsy was performed on Monday, May 6. The official results of the autopsy will not be available until a later date. The State Division of Criminal Investigation is in charge of the investigation. With the current information, no foul play is suspected.
