The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission has approved an extension of the deadline connected to a procedural schedule for the North Bend Wind project proposed for an area straddling the Hughes/Hyde County line. Attorney for North Bend Brett Koenecke says North Bend is still working with Hughes County officials on a various permits and agreements.

The Public Utilities Commission approved an initial procedural schedule for the North Bend project on October 29th. The evidentiary hearing was originally scheduled for February 24th. Koenecke, in a filing in the matter, says North Bend is awaiting action by Hughes County on a Conditional Use Permit. He expects the County to address the permit in December.
