AMES, I.A.(WNAX)- Despite the shot of cold air and some snow this week, the outlook for most of December is continued above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation.
Dennis Todey with the Midwest Climate Hub in Ames Iowa says that is related to the jet stream moving far north of us.
Todey says any rain or snow now won’t do much for ongoing drought conditions.
Todey says dry conditions are expected to hang on through most of the winter.
The Climate Prediction Center has issued a La Nina advisory until late spring.
