PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Commercial passenger traffic at Pierre Regional Airport continues to grow. Airport Liaison to the Pierre City Commission Jamie Huizenga says November’s enplanements at P-I-R have been the best yet.
Exactly 100 more people flew from Pierre in November than October which had 2374 passengers. Officially 15-thousand 587 enplanements have been logged in 2021. Huizenga is continuing to encourage residents from central South Dakota and beyond to book a flight from Pierre.
For Pierre to make 20-thousand enplanements, four-thousand 413 passengers would need to use the Pierre airport before December 31st, which would be one-thousand 939 more passengers than November’s number. Pierre has averaged one-thousand 417 enplanements per month this year, although enplanements over one-thousand didn’t begin until May.
