PIERRE, S.D.(Press Release) – An Aberdeen, S.D. man has been identified as the person who died in a one-vehicle crash that occurred Friday, Nov. 26, north of Pierre.
Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2019 Mazda CX-5 was southbound on South Dakota Highway 1804 when the vehicle entered the west ditch, re-entered the highway, entered the east ditch and rolled.
Wayde Wieczorek, the 25-year-old driver, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to the Pierre hospital and then airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital. He died on Friday, Dec. 3.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
