WASHINGTON, D.C.(WNAX)- Russian military forces have gathered on their border with Ukraine, posing a threat to that developing democracy.

South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says they have had several briefings on the situation.

Rounds says it looks like an invasion is possible.

President Biden had a one on one video talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week. Rounds says he hopes it helps.

US intelligence reports suggested an invasion of Ukraine could happen as early as next month.
