PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The impacts of a Michigan school shooting at the end of November are being felt around the Pierre School District. Superintendent Dr. Kelly Glodt says any school shooting incident causes the District to look closely at current security protocol.
Glodt says Pierre is fortunate to have more available law enforcement resources than most schools to respond to an incident.
Glodt says the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting which happened just over nine years ago on December 14th of 2012 changed everything about school safety.
Glodt says school safety and preparing for possible intrusions has been one of the biggest changes he’s seen in education over the course of his career. You can hear the entire interview with Dr. Glodt regarding school safety.
