VERMILLION, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota legislators will again debate marijuana in the 2022 session.
Senator Art Rusch of Vermillion was a member of the interim adult use marijuana committee and says there have been several possible bills tossed around.
Rusch says there are a lot of details connected to recreational marijuana usage.
Rusch says if legislators approve recreational use marijuana it may do away with the need for medical marijuana.
The state Health Department has started issuing medical marijuana cards even though the first marijuana for consumption may not be available until late next summer.
