PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Board of Regents has been dealing with the results of the “SB55” study, and changes on campuses to “Opportunity Centers.”
Regents Executive Director Brian Maher told legislators there is a clear difference between the “SB55” study and on campus issues with Opportunity Centers.
Maher says public meetings at a couple of campuses brought both issues together.
The “SB55” mandate pushed the Regents to look for program and budget efficiencies on the six campuses, while the Opportunity Centers came after some legislators objected to on campus diversity efforts.
