RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- The year-end holiday season, and Yule in particular, has long been accompanied by themes of rebirth and starting anew.
One group leaning into this holiday tradition is the Rapid City Fire Department, who have just introduced an ambulance to the force.
However, Tessa Jaeger, public information officer for the RCFD, says this isn’t just some new ambulance.
Jaeger explained how this ambulance was recovered from nothing more than a salvageable body.
Jaeger said that ceremony has been performed by the RCFD for over one hundred years.
Jaeger said don’t discount the contribution one ambulance makes in Rapid City.
The fire department keeps older model ambulances in “cold-storage” for situations like this.
