SD Dept of Health reports 13 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 13 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,469. The state had 509 new cases and 362 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,224. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 244.

So far, South Dakota has had 176,186 cases and 166,493 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 16 new cases and 12 recoveries. The county currently has 223 active cases. Overall, the county has had 7,584 cases and 7,254 recoveries. There’s currently 107 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 42,556 cases, followed by Pennington County with 23,528 and Lincoln County with 11,633, Other counties totals include Codington with 6,375, Brookings with 5,682, Meade with 5,135, Lawrence with 4,903, and Davison with 4,459.

Statewide 492,789 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 67% of the state) with 443,427 completing vaccination(over 55% of the state).  Statewide 164,990 have received the booster shot(over 25% of the state).

Brown County has 22,615 receiving at least one shot & 21,082 completing vaccination. 8,478 receiving the booster shot.
