The Yankton County Commission included a one-point two percent raise for county employees in the budget they approved for next year.
At their final meeting of the year yesterday, (Tuesday) Commission Chair Cheri Loest says she was asked about possibly raising that.
Loest says she talked to commissioners from a number of other counties.
Commissioner Dan Klimisch says stipends don’t help employee pay keep up with inflation.
The commission put off a decision on the pay changes until their January fourth meeting.
