ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Wednesday, U.S. Senator John Thune made stops in Aberdeen & Britton.

Prior to recapping his day here, Senator Thune also discussed headlines that developed during the day.

On Wednesday morning, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announced he will be retiring at the end of this term.

Senator Thune was not surprised to hear the announcement.

Thune comments that the Democrats will have control of who will be the next Supreme Court Justice.

Confirmation hearing will begin when Justice Breyer officially retires.

Another headline Wednesday was SkyWest to retain Essential Air Service for the Aberdeen Regional Airport for the next 3 years.  Senator Thune was pleased to hear that decision.

Let’s recap Senator Thune’s day in Aberdeen.  Senator Thune spent the morning at Aberdeen Christian School.  Thune talked to the students about how important it is to vote in elections.

Senator Thune gave the examples of his Senate races that took place in 2002 against Tim Johnson & 2004 against Tom Daschle.

Senator Thune also address the issue of faith to the students.  Thune talks how he applies his faith in his time at the Senate.

Senator Thune moved on to Britton where he spoke with community leaders from various rural locations.  Thune talks about what some of those issues are.

Infrastructure was another key issue brought up & especially broadband.  Thune talks about the money coming in to help address that.
