RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- Late last year, NDN Collective announced they were the recipient of a $50 million dollar grant from the Bush Foundation – money they intend to redistribute to Indigenous individuals in a three-state region.
Helping lead this effort is the groups newest hire – Terri Peterson, who will serve in the role of program manager.
Peterson said the distribution effort begins with the individual.
Peterson pledged a transparent distribution process, and said she believes any outside observer would be satisfied with the information to be shared.
Though still early in the effort, Peterson emphasized one word when asked what the decision making process for the grants would look like.
Nick Tilsen, president and CEO of the Rapid City-based indigenous activist organization, has said NDN Collective is “fired up” about Peterson joining the team and the coming distribution effort.
