PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 12 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,677. The state had 733 new cases and 2,507 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 27,003. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 344.
So far, South Dakota has had 229,671 cases and 199,991 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 36 new cases and 116 recoveries. The county currently has 1,354 active cases. Overall, the county has had 9,882 cases and 8,415 recoveries. There’s currently 113 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 55,971 cases, followed by Pennington County with 31,602 and Lincoln County with 15,240, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,124, Brookings with 7,915, Meade with 6,732, Lawrence with 6,317, and Davison with 5,713.
Statewide 508,783 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 70% of the state) with 454,816 completing vaccination(over 57% of the state). Statewide 197,359 have received the booster shot(over 30% of the state).
Brown County has 23,307 receiving at least one shot & 21,661 completing vaccination. 10,196 receiving the booster shot.
