SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(WNAX)- More weather firsts set in the region this month. Red Flag warnings have been issued for much of central into southeast South Dakota.
Matt Dux at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says this is the first year they have ever issued Red Flag warnings in the winter.
Dux says Red Flag warnings point to dangerous conditions that could lead to wildfires.
Dux says the trend for the next couple of weeks doesn’t point to a lot of change.
Only scattered light precipitation is predicted into the weekend.
Yankton County Emergency Services has issued an open burn ban for today and tomorrow.
