PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- While the legislative session is far from done, Governor Kristi Noem’s proposal to increase state aid to education by six percent is holding up so far.
Freeman Public School Superintendent Jake Tietge says that prospect along with an increase in enrollment has them planning for the next school year.
Tietge says they are expecting more kids in the lower grades.
Tietge says they would also like to bring back some classes that were dropped.
Tietge says they will work out details of their plans once the legislature wraps up next month.
