PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- A Medicaid expansion proposal was killed on the floor of the South Dakota Senate this week.
The group, “South Dakotans Decide Healthcare” has placed “Constitutional Amendment D” on the November ballot that would let voters decide on that type of expansion.
Spokesman Zach Marcus says the legislative action this week doesn’t have any effect on them.
Marcus says many of the Senators referred to the ballot issue.
The November ballot could be quite long. Marcus says they don’t think that will be a problem for them.
Voters in the June primary will decide on “Constitutional Amendment C” that could potentially disrupt the process for adopting Medicaid expansion.
