SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,805. The state had 95 new cases and 365 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 5,075. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 171.

So far, South Dakota has had 235,882 cases and 228,002 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 7 new cases and 19 recoveries. The county currently has 279 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,192 cases and 9,797 recoveries. There’s currently 116 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,782 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,447 and Lincoln County with 15,430, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,333, Brookings with 8,058, Meade with 6,952, Lawrence with 6,536, and Yankton with 5,878.

Statewide 515,309 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 71% of the state) with 463,875 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state).  Statewide 206,665 have received the booster shot(under 32% of the state).

Brown County has 23,539 receiving at least one shot & 22,112 completing vaccination. 10,769 receiving the booster shot.
