HURON, S.D.(WNAX)- It took almost the entire session, but the South Dakota legislature approved two hundred million dollars in funding for housing development.
Representative Roger Chase of Huron chaired the summer study committee that came up with most of the legislation and says it was close at the end.
Chase says they worked with legislators to help them understand where the money will be spent.
Chase says two hundred million dollars is a good start to attack the problem.
Chase says rules and regulations will have to be written by South Dakota Housing and other state agencies involved in the programs.
