WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The Trump Administration announced another round of payments to ag producers to make up for lost markets due to the trade war with China.
While details are slim, this one will use tariff impacts per county and go to producers that get a crop in the ground.
South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says they haven’t seen many details yet, either.
Johnson says it would make more sense to base the payments over a multi-year crop average.
Johnson says they are pushing the Ag Department for more answers.
This plan is estimated to cost about $16 billion, the last payout was about $12 billion.
