YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- This is the time of year when school districts work to fill their open teaching positions before the fall term starts.

Yankton School District Superintendent Wayne Kindle says they have filled most of their open slots.

Kindle says applicants for open positions have dropped drastically.

Kindle says some positions are very difficult to fill.

The district had about twenty teachers retire or resign at the end of the school year.
