SOUTH DAKOTA, (WNAX)- The South Dakota Secretary of States office has certified twenty-three thousand petition signatures to get an initiated issue on the ballot, that if approved, would expand Medicaid coverage in the state.
Rick Weiland, with “Dakotans for Health” says their issue will join an amendment already certified.
Weiland says their issue is a type of back up plan.
Weiland says they would like to see voters approve both measures.
Weiland says South Dakota is one of twelve states that have not yet expanded Medicaid coverage.
