RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA News) – A sinkhole was reported early Thursday morning in the 300 block of Whitewood Street in Rapid City. And it expanded during the day. Rapid City Communications Director Darrell Shoemaker said they expanded the traffic closure.

Shoemaker said officials were on-scene, and geotechnical experts were also on-scene to determine potential causes.
