STURGIS, S.D.(KBHB) – The 82nd Sturgis Motorcycle Rally officially begins on Friday and Sturgis Police are gearing up for this year’s event.
Police Chief Geody VanDewater says traffic is starting to pick up and all traffic signals and stop signs have been placed.
VanDewater says patience during rally week is a must.
The city of Sturgis will host opening ceremonies for the rally beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
Former NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace will serve as the Grand Marshal for this year’s event.
