ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – Today marks the end of an era at the Brown County Courthouse. Maxine Fischer is working her final day as Brown County Auditor.

Fischer has been employed at the courthouse for 47 years. She said there has been many changes through the years.

Fischer said it doesn’t seem real that she is retiring.

She has held several positions during her work with the county.

There will be an open house to honor her from 2 to 4 this afternoon at the courthouse.

She thanked all of the people who she has served through the years.
