YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – President Trump approved a disaster declaration for damages from the March storms and flooding in South Dakota.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency estimated damage at over $43 million dollars in 58 counties.
Yankton City Manager Amy Leon told the city commission Monday night that they can now move ahead with flood repair plans.
Leon says they are just beginning the budgeting process.
Leon says they should soon have updated engineering estimates.
Flooding along Marne Creek caused an estimated $18 million in damage to the creek and Auld-Brokaw Trail. Some parts of the trail have re-opened since the flooding.
