LEOLA, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The Rhubarb Festival takes place in Leola this weekend, June 28-30.

The bi-annual event gets started on Friday with a special event from a well-known movie. Richard Jasmer, member of the Leola Development Corporation Board, provides the details.

Saturday’s schedule is full of activities that includes a road race, parade at 11 a.m., dog show, picnic, street dance and fireworks.

Jasmer said that most of the events are free, thanks to sponsors and a fundraiser.

The Rhurbarb Festival brings together people from a variety of locations, according to Jasmer.
